Winter wonderland with a high fun factor
Pleasurable relaxation in a rustic ambience
You can reach the ski piste from the farm within 2-5 minutes by car. Strap on your skis and hit the slopes! But you can also enjoy some tobogganing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or ski tours in Sesto, where snow is guaranteed. There are always lots of events: Krampus parade, mountain New Year’s Eve with silent fireworks or the Christmas market in the neighbouring village of San Candido – to name just a few.
Skiing fun in the 3 Peaks Dolomites
What makes skiing in Sesto so special? You always have the unique mountain world of the Sesto Dolomites in view. 115 kilometres of slopes on five ski mountains and plenty of cosy huts invite you to take a break. And the little ski stars of tomorrow can practise at the Waldheim ski lift in the valley.
A toboggan ride is always fun!
There are lots of hiking trails and mountain pastures in Sesto where you can sledge down into the valley. “Easy-going” guests can take the cable car up to Croda Rossa to tackle the descent on the 5 km long toboggan run.
Snowshoe hiking around the 3 Peaks
Trudge through fresh, sparkling snow, sense the tranquillity of nature and let your gaze wander into the distance – from the Pfeifhof you can comfortably hike to our alpine hut, to the Monte Elmo mountain station or to the surrounding alpine pastures, which are also open in winter. There are plenty of options.
Ski tours
The ski tour up to the 3 Peaks is probably one of the most beautiful tours around Sesto. There is lots of variety: beginners and the less experienced are drawn to forests and mountain pastures, while more experienced tourers seek their thrills in the steep gullies of the Sesto Dolomites. There are also some beautiful tours from the farm and Alexander will be happy to give you some tips for easy tours.
Cross-country skiing in Alta Pusteria
Cross-country skiing enthusiasts are sure to get their money’s worth here with us. Well-prepared cross-country trails take you into the Val Fiscalina valley or through the Sesto panoramic high-altitude trail (a few minutes from the Pfeifhof), past the alpine pastures under the Carnic Ridge. Night cross-country skiing is also possible in Sesto.
When the snow conditions are good, all 5 main towns in the Alta Pusteria (Sesto, San Candido, Dobbiaco, Villabassa, Braies) are connected to each other by cross-country ski trails.
Horse-drawn sleigh rides through an idyllic snowy landscape
You can also enjoy a winter experience without the physical activity. The romance of a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snow-covered Val Fiscalina is hard to beat, snuggled up in a warm blanket you can enjoy the dreamlike winter atmosphere.
